It's Another Fine Day (Adventures in Odyssey Gold)

I LOVE wedding response cards!  It's so much fun to be this close to the wedding.  And a little crazy how fast it came.  I do not, however, like my messy house.  John's stuff is now everywhere.  It's not his fault, we just haven't had time to organize.  At that brings me to our desperate call for help -- is anyone going to have time to help us paint in the near future?  The green walls really need to go.

In other news, I have a pet owl named Naarp.  He's about two inches tall and really likes meat, but not from sea creatures.  He also seriously kicks other animals' butts.  I wouldn't mess with him if I were you.

Currently listening to: AIO volumes 9/10/11 (I'm trying to listen to the episodes in order, but the albums are not arranged in order.  It makes the whole process a bit annoying).

Currently reading: My own work

Currently watching: the demise of poor Bobby on Law and Order: CI, The Bachelorette (I know, I know), and Jon and Kate Plus 8

AAACK!

I may need to start liking the early morning in order to accomplish all the work I need to do.  That is not a happy thought.  Boo to the morning.  But yay to having things to do, despite not getting paid for them.  Here's hoping they pay off before I die.

Currently listening to: AIO #7 (Which contains several episodes i had to force myself to listen to.  But that's what a marathon is about).

Back to the land of the jobless

How is it that I can be jobless and still ridiculously busy??  Might be the job hunt, three book projects, wedding planning, and house-maintaining.  Anybody else feeling exhausted?

Currently listening to: Last episode of AIO volume six!  (And, just for the record, there are exactly 50 albums.  So I'm just over one tenth through my re-listening).

By the way, read the series that I have the image for in this entry.  You will LOVE them.  If you're female, at least.

Having gotten no further in her plans for a productive day, Bethany settles down at her second coffee shop, computer on the table.  Then she realizes that the fact that she is writing a xanga entry means that she is not actually accomplishing the things she meant to do.  Oh the irony.

Also, she wonders if God is having a good laugh at her expense.  Because seriously, she just got another job interview for a teaching position.  *Shakes her head*  (7th/8th grade position at Grant Christian School).

She will keep you posted.

Currently Listening To: Still AIO #3 (At this rate I'll finish by Christmas, maybe)
Currently Reading: Well, will be reading Melody Carlson books, as she is the Christian Teen Young Adult author of the moment (there has to be a better way to put that)
Currently Gaming: World of freaking Warcraft (What have I come to?)
Currently Playing: Munchkin Cthulu (And you should too!)

Academia

I feel like I should say something more positive after that last entry.  I was at a workshop with my dad on Friday and Saturday at Spring Arbor University.  I went to learn a lot about publishing (the subject of the seminar) and to take notes for him because it was the first time he gave the workshop.  Let me tell you, being treated like and adult colleague by a group of university professors was really great.  Every 20-something should have that at least once a week, just to boost their ego.

I do have to say, though, that it's hard to imagine wanting to live in Spring Arbor.  The university campus was like this nice little gem in the middle of a garbage heap.  That was a maybe a bit harsh.  Let's just say that it's not the nicest town I've ever been to.  I think the school would be well served by transporting their entire campus somewhere nicer.  You know, with their magic transporting powers.

I have decided to listen to all 50+ albums of Adventures in Odyssey from the beginning.  I've been listening to the show since fourth grade and still love it.  Since they're celebrating their 20th anniversary this year (and won't be making new episodes until 2009--boo them) I'm going to have my own little marathon.  I should say big marathon.  It's going to take awhile.
Currently listening to: AIO Album #3: Heroes (That's right, three out of 50+)
